By all accounts, Rolling on the Green–HOME EDITION was a smash hit!
Families and community members came together for a night of magic, virtual fun and community building like never before.
Our magician, Ben Seidman bent all our minds and had us all laughing the entire show.
Here is a recap of our event:
Attendees enjoyed items from their pre-delivered At-Home Party Kits, which included:
- cocktail kits sponsored in part by Milwaukee’s own, Bittercube
- cookie decorating kits sponsored by Waterstone Bank
- Family-bags of butter popcorn
- Cocktail shakers and swanky glasses
- A deck of cards for playing along at home sponsored by Sendik’s Food Market
During our pre-party attendees watched a video where we got to hear from students, educators and specialists about what new playgrounds would mean for our community. An adapted version of that video is now available here.
The night kicked off with a welcoming message and brief remarks by Educational Foundation President Chrissy Kruger-Gruendyke, District Superintendent Dr. Jeff Dellutri, and Student Services Director Paul Reich.
We thanked and celebrated our amazing sponsors.
Then it was time for the main event! The mind-bending magic of Ben Seidman all the way from L.A.
After such an awesome performance by Ben, we had a rapid-fire fundraising activity where we attempted to raise $10,000 in 10 minutes. It was spectacular and we DID IT! If you committed to any of the donor levels during this rapid fire fundraiser and did not receive an invoice to accept your payment, please email FPBEdFound@gmail.com.
After being flooded with so much love in the form of donations, we were ready to spread the wealth by announcing the winner of the 50/50 drawing. The pot had grown to $2410, which meant $1205 would go to the winner and $1205 would go to the Educational Foundation. The winner was Bridget Carlson! Bridget graciously donated back her winnings putting all $2,410 into the Educational Foundation’s campaign to level the playing field for our community!
Just as we were closing out the event, we were pleasantly interrupted by one of our board members who was working behind the scenes to make a HUGE announcement. She received word that an anonymous donor committed $100,000 toward the playgrounds project! This is a tremendous amount and something the Educational Foundation has never experienced before.
We ended the night on that spectacular note.
While our event was a smash hit, the real winners are our schools and the students and children in the community that will enjoy ADA-accessible, state-of-the-art playgrounds. And with the district planning to break ground in summer of 2021, our children will not have to wait any longer!
Thank you to everyone that participated as sponsors, donors and attendees in Rolling on the Green–HOME EDITION.
